Dr Tim Baker ENT Surgeon offers over 20 years experience in ear, nose, throat, head and neck surgery.
Tim is appointed as a senior consultant surgeon at St Vincent’s Public Hospital where he continues to train registrars and perform surgery on advanced head and neck cancers in a multidisciplinary environment.
A member of the Australasian College of Surgeons and Australasian Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgeons, Tim regularly performs voluntary outreach services to third world countries through the Pacific Island Project.
Tim graduated from Monash University with first class honours in 1991. He completed his fellowship training in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck surgery in 1999 and commenced working in rural Victoria, visiting Bairnsdale and Shepparton.
He then undertook an advanced fellowship in Head and Neck surgical oncology in 2001 at the prestigious Princess Margaret and Toronto General Hospitals in Canada. Here, he honed skills in the management and reconstruction of numerous head and neck diseases utilising conventional and cutting edge techniques such as trans oral laser surgery. During his time in North America he undertook numerous research projects, publishing papers and presenting his work at international conferences.
Upon returning to Australia Tim commenced practice in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and has maintained his commitment to rural health and regularly continues to provide ENT services in Shepparton. His busy practice is focused on providing excellent holistic care for all ENT issues with a strong focus on paediatric ENT including tonsils, adenoids and middle ear disease. He also is interested in general otology, sinus disease and has a sub interest in cosmetic and functional rhinoplasty.
In his spare time, Tim enjoys pretending to be a farmer.
